NHS Lanarkshire’s annual Realistic Medicine Conference will take place at University Hospital Hairmyres lecture theatre on Thursday 5 December from 1.30pm until 5pm.
The in-person conference is open to all NHS Lanarkshire and health and social care partnership staff.
It will feature updates from our national realistic medicine team colleagues with presenters including the following:
- Interface division supporting a sustainable health and care delivery model by Trudi Marshall, Executive Director for Interface;
- Evolving holistic and value-based approaches to care by Angela Donaldson, Health Promoting Health Service Senior;
- Influencing patient-reported outcomes – enhanced vetting and what matters for the patient and our reform by Mr Martin Downey, Clinical Director, and Lynn Mack, Programme Head for Access Division;
- Realistic approaches for GP trainees and the impact for future care planning by Dr Catriona Nisbet, GP Partner, Cluster Lead, and Dr Jenni Gibson, Cancer Lead GP, Realistic Medicine Depute;
- Why value-based health and care and Care Opinion can impact outcomes that matter by Anne Leitch, Scottish Programme Lead for Value Based Health and Care and Fraser Gilmore, Executive Director, Head of Scotland for Care Opinion.
The conference presentations and poster viewing will provide an opportunity to learn and network with other colleagues. There will be a poster prize.
Karen Morrow, Realistic Medicine Programme Manager, said: “Attending the conference will enable staff to engage with the realistic medicine vision for Lanarkshire and how it aligns with national realistic ambitions. It will also showcase local and national updates and will provide the opportunity to hear from colleagues on their innovative realistic medicine projects.
“CPD accreditation and revalidation will be achieved through conference keynote sessions, networking with colleagues showcasing their innovative work.”
