A team of advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs) from South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership recently attended the International Council of Nurses (ICN) conference in Aberdeen, to present on a number of areas of work and display posters to share learning.
The conference is the largest global forum for advanced practice nurses to network and collaborate on topics and future trends relevant to their practice.
The ANPs led the way with three presentations on:
- Impact of telemedicine in NHS Lanarkshire Urgent Care Service
- Work-based advanced module – paediatrics in collaboration with Glasgow Caledonian University
- Urgent care provision for Blantyre Life
They also had five posters selected to display and share their learning with delegates:
- Transition from staff nurse to ANP in primary care
- Primary care ANP education sessions
- Successful implementation of clinical supervision for ANPs
- Induction programme for trainee ANPs
- NHS Lanarkshire Primary Care Urgent Care Team
Lynsey Sutherland, Associate Nurse Director, South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “It’s inspiring to see our ANPs leading by example and setting the standard for best practice. These events are a great opportunity to share ideas and educate both ourselves and others. Well done to everyone involved.”
