More than 50 senior members of staff from across the organisation came together recently at the primary Care Vision session.
This event was part of the series of Vision sessions looking at planning for the future of different services.
Delegates heard about the Scottish Government’s approach to reform in primary care, NHS Lanarkshire’s Primary Care Action Plan, improving GP access and new models of primary care.
They also split into workshops to focus on:
- GP access
- Maximising efficiencies
- Transformation of services
- Pathways to community care
The event concluded with lots of in-depth discussion and feedback from the workshops. All of the information was captured and will be used to inform the Primary Care Action Plan.
Dr Mark Russell, Medical Director South Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “I would like to thank everyone for making the time to attend the primary Care Vision session. It was great to hear that there’s enthusiasm for change to help address the challenges in primary care and I’m very much looking forward to putting our Primary Care Action Plan into practice.”
