Anne Rouse bids adieu to NHS Lanarkshire after decades of service

Jul 9, 2024

After starting her nurse training at the age of 17, Anne Rouse has dedicated her entire working life to helping others in her role as a psychiatric nurse.

It is now time for Anne to say goodbye to the NHS and we want to take this opportunity to praise our esteemed colleague and commend her for the many years of commitment she has shown to the organisation and the people of Lanarkshire.

Anne worked in University Hospital Monklands for many years assessing, treating and caring for acutely unwell patients. She then played a fundamental part in the development of the Electro-Convulsion Therapy (ECT) department which she went on to manage as a Charge Nurse. Anne then progressed to a role as a, Practice Education Facilitator, ensuring Clinical Learning Quality Standards were maintained and supporting student nurses who would become the NHS workforce of the future.

Anne’s final role has been within the Primary Care Mental Health & Wellbeing Service where she has been an invaluable part of the developing service. She has been a treasured colleague, supporting students and new staff bringing her past work experience into her role.

Anne ran her clinics autonomously while working in partnership with many primary care GP surgeries across Lanarkshire to treat patients suffering from mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Anne has been known throughout her career as a fiercely resilient, but compassionate and caring individual who has been a role model for many over the years and will be remembered fondly.

Good luck for your retirement Anne, we are sure your grandchildren will fill the gap that nursing leaves and keep you very busy.
