Congratulations to Jacqueline Smith on being nominated for the first Staff GREATix of the month award at University Hospital Wishaw.
The award was presented at Ward 23 by chief midwife Cheryl Clark (far right), consultant anaesthetist Dr Adam Livingston (second from left) and infant feeding development midwife Anne Marie Bruce (far left) who recognised Jacqueline’s continuous excellence and good practice within her role as breastfeeding support service assistant.
Jacqueline recognised a patient’s case was complex and appropriately referred the woman to her GP. However, when the issues continued, Jacqueline advocated on behalf of this patient when they knew from their experience that there was something wrong, supporting the mother to return to the GP where onward referral discovered a breast abscess and enabled appropriate treatment. Thank you Jacqueline!
