SALUS services to support staff

Aug 16, 2022

SALUS services have been developed and continue to adapt to support the needs of staff, who are encouraged to access these via the Your Heath Matters webpage and navigate to the Mental Health Support and Salus Occupational Health sections where further information on a range of services and access can be found.

If you would like to talk to someone about how you’re feeling, there is a range of support to help with the mental and physical health of all NHSL employees, which are included in this article.

Gillian Archibald, Healthy Working Lives & EASY Manager, NHS Lanarkshire, said: “All NHS Lanarkshire staff are encouraged to visit the ‘Your Health Matters’ web page for all information and support resources available to our workforce. We continue to develop and add to these resources in order to support staff with a variety of topical areas, from mental health to financial advice and guidance.”

These include:

Salus Helpline: The helpline provides real-time information in response to specific queries from staff across NHSL, including Health and Social Care Partnerships, GP’s and Dental. The EASY (Early Access to Support for You) team triage calls initially, providing guidance and signposting the specialist services.  Our qualified and experienced Occupational Health Nurses are also available to provide additional support and guidance when required.

Early Access to Support for You (EASY): The EASY team continue to provide support for staff absent with stress, anxiety and general mental health issues as part of existing protocols for supporting staff attendance.

Staff Care and Well-being Support Line: A 24-hour staff care and well-being support line is now in operation, offering psychological support to all staff who want it.  Following an initial telephone discussion, support can be provided by phone, video call or face-to-face if needed.
