Today is the first day of World Breastfeeding Week. This year’s theme is Step Up For Breastfeeding.
Babies are protected by law in Scotland to be fed wherever they may be.
Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland establishments are committed to giving you an extra warm welcome by providing welcoming spaces for parents to use and supportive customer service. Look out for the logo (above).
Over 200 establishments that are signed up to the scheme can be found on a brand new interactive map to help parents and carers identify venues that are signed up to Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland – Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland – Google My Maps
Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland recognises the importance of supporting parents to feed when they are out and about. As well as creating welcoming environments the scheme also provides awareness training and support for businesses signing up to the scheme. Some of Lanarkshire’s most popular places for breastfeeding on the go include cafes, leisure and libraries as well as Breastfeeding groups and community hubs.
