Walking Upstairs After a Hip Replacement

1.
Use a rail or banister if there is one.
Take one step at a time.
Walk up to the bottom step.

2.
Step up with the leg that did not have the operation.

3.
Step up with your operated leg and the sticks.
Walking Downstairs After a Hip Operation

1.
Use a banister or a rail if there is one.
Take 1 step at a time.
Both feet need to be firmly on the stair.

2.
Put the sticks down a stair and step the operated leg down.

3.
Step your other leg on to the same stair.
