Genital Warts
Genital warts are caused by a virus (Human Papilloma Virus) it is passed on by skin to skin contact.
Many people have the (Human Papilloma Virus and might never get warts.
Genital warts are usually passed on during sex.
Men and women can get genital warts.
These warts are not the same as the warts on your hands.
Symptoms
If you have any lumps down below or any of the following symptoms speak to your doctor or nurse.
Sometimes lumps are warts.
Warts can grow around the anus (bottom), around the vagina and tip of the penis.
Sometimes the area may feel itchy.
Sometimes the warts are hard to see.
Treatment for Genital Warts
They can be frozen.
Cream or liquids can be used.
Laser treatment or surgery is not usually needed.
Go to your Doctor (GP), clinic to be treated.
Do not get treatments at the chemist.
Wart treatment for hands should not be used on other parts of the body.
Always use a condom when having sex, especially with a new partner.
