In the lead-up to the NHS Lanarkshire Staff Awards 2026, we are shining a spotlight on the exceptional individuals and teams shortlisted for this year’s awards.
The eighth spotlight in our series celebrates four Domestic Services teams that received identical scores from the judging panel. In recognition of their equally exceptional contributions, they have been brought together within their category.
The teams are:
- Monklands Hospital Day-Shift Domestic Team
- Monklands Monday-to-Wednesday Night-Shift Team
- Domestic Services Supervisory Team at University Hospital Monklands
- Community Domestic Supervisors supporting Airdrie, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld and Clydesdale
Across hospitals, health centres and community settings, these teams provide a vital frontline service. Their work is often carried out behind the scenes, but its impact is felt every day by patients, visitors and colleagues.
They maintain clean, safe and welcoming environments, support infection prevention and respond quickly to outbreaks, urgent cleans and unexpected incidents.
By reorganising rotas, adapting priorities and working closely with clinical and facilities colleagues, they help protect patients and keep essential services running.
Their contribution also extends far beyond cleaning. Team members support patient flow, help vulnerable patients maintain their dignity and provide kindness, guidance and reassurance to colleagues.
Together, these four teams demonstrate professionalism, compassion and outstanding teamwork, making an invaluable contribution to patient care across NHS Lanarkshire.
The NHS Lanarkshire Staff Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
