NHS Lanarkshire is recruiting three new non-executive Board members to play a key role in shaping the health and wellbeing of people across its communities.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on 21 September.
It’s an exciting time to join NHS Lanarkshire as it strives to deliver a healthier future through the Scottish Government’s newly announced reform of public services, which includes a reduction in the number of health boards.
Katharina Kasper, Chair of the Board of NHS Lanarkshire, said: “I’d really encourage you to consider whether this could be a role for you.
“We serve around 670,000 people across North and South Lanarkshire, and we have a significant responsibility – to improve the health of our population, tackle inequalities and ensure that people can access safe, high-quality and sustainable healthcare.
“This is a particularly important time to join us. Across Scotland, public service reform will shape how healthcare is organised and delivered over the coming years. For NHS Lanarkshire, that creates a real opportunity to think differently about how we deliver services and how we work with partners across organisational boundaries.
“Periods of change also make strong governance, sound judgement and good decision-making more important than ever. That is where our non-executive directors have a vital role to play.
“We want Board members who are curious, who listen, who are prepared to ask difficult questions constructively, and who can weigh complex evidence and different perspectives to help us reach good decisions.
“We’re particularly interested in people who can bring experience from areas such as major investment and infrastructure, digital and technology-enabled transformation, integrated health and social care, and primary care and community services.
“But you don’t need to have spent your career in the NHS. Some of the most valuable perspectives around a board table come from people who have worked in very different sectors, or whose knowledge and experience come from their communities, voluntary roles or their own lived experience.
“We want a Board with a genuine diversity of thought, background and perspective, because that helps us make better decisions for the communities we serve. The decisions we make over the coming years will matter, and this is a real opportunity to help shape the future of healthcare in Lanarkshire.

- These appointments are remunerated, will be for four years and will require a commitment of an average of eight hours over the course of a week
