Colleagues across NHS Lanarkshire and HSCPs are being encouraged to help shape the next stage of Our Health Together as a four-week check-in on the refreshed strategy gets underway.
Our Health Together is NHS Lanarkshire’s long-term strategy for improving health and care across Lanarkshire. Developed through extensive engagement with patients, carers, colleagues, communities and partners, it sets the long-term direction for how we’ll improve health, reduce inequalities and provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time, first time.
The strategy is being refreshed, not replaced, to reflect the progress we’ve made, the challenges we continue to face and the national priorities that will shape health and care over the next three years.
Before the refreshed strategy is considered by the NHS Lanarkshire Board in September, colleagues are being invited to review the document and share their views.
In a joint statement, NHS Lanarkshire Board Vice Chair Donald Reid and Chief Executive Louise Long said: “Our Health Together has always been built on listening. The original strategy was shaped by the views and experiences of patients, carers, colleagues, communities and partners, and those conversations continue to guide our work today.
“This refresh is not about creating a new strategy. It is about making sure our long-term direction reflects where we are now, recognising both the progress we’ve made and the challenges we continue to face. It also strengthens the connection between our ambitions and how we will deliver them over the next three years.
“We know colleagues continue to work under significant pressure, and we’re incredibly grateful for the commitment, professionalism and compassion you show every day. Your experience is invaluable, and we want to hear from you before the refreshed strategy is considered by the Board.
“Just as importantly, we want this to mark a new chapter in how we engage with our staff. We want to build on the conversations that have already shaped Our Health Together by making listening and involvement an even more regular part of how NHS Lanarkshire works.
“This four-week check-in is an important opportunity for your voice to be heard and the start of a continuing conversation as we work together to improve health and care for the people of Lanarkshire.”
The refreshed strategy is organised around four outcomes – Better Health, Better Care, Better Workplace and Better Value – providing a clearer framework for how NHS Lanarkshire will deliver its long-term ambitions over the coming years.
