This morning, NHS Lanarkshire’s Learning and Organisational Development (L&OD) team are delivering an interactive Values and Behaviours session as part of the ‘HR Town Hall’ pop-up event.
The event brings colleagues together to find out more about a range of HR-related support, services and priorities, with the L&OD team using the opportunity to showcase their ongoing work around NHS Lanarkshire’s new organisational values:
• Care and Compassion
• Dignity and Respect
• Openness, Honesty and Responsibility
• Quality and Teamwork
Over recent months, the team have been working directly with teams across NHS Lanarkshire to bring these values to life in a way that feels meaningful, practical and relevant to day-to-day work.
Rather than being something that sits on a page, the sessions focus on what the values look and feel like in practice within real teams and real situations.
The sessions are highly interactive, giving teams space to reflect openly on where they are already demonstrating the values at their best, while also identifying opportunities to strengthen values and behaviours even further.
This supportive and conversational approach encourages honest discussion, shared understanding and a clear focus on simple, practical actions that can make a difference.
Siobhan McRorie, Learning and Organisational Development Manager, said: “Our new values are at the heart of how we work together, support one another and deliver care for the people of Lanarkshire.
“These sessions are about helping teams make those values real in their day-to-day work. They create space for open and honest conversations about what is working well, where there may be opportunities to improve, and what practical actions teams can take to strengthen behaviours and relationships.
“The HR Town Hall pop-up event is a great opportunity for us to speak to colleagues about this work, answer questions and encourage teams to get involved.
“We have already had really positive engagement from teams across the organisation, and we look forward to continuing this work over the coming year.”
The L&OD team will continue this work over the coming year, with the aim of connecting with every team across the organisation.
If your team hasn’t yet taken part, keep an eye out for an email invitation to arrange your session, or get in touch with the team at LearningandOD@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk to book a time that suits you.
