Children’s Mental Health Week 2026: My Place

Feb 6, 2026

This year’s Children’s Mental Health Week is taking place between Monday 9–Sunday 15 February, with this year’s theme being ‘My Place.’

My Place encourages children and young people to think about the spaces, relationships and communities that help them feel safe, valued and understood.

Vicki Trim, Health Improvement Lead, University Health & Social North Lanarkshire, said: “A person’s place doesn’t have to be physical; it can be a feeling, a trusted person, or a sense of belonging.

“Creating these supportive spaces is something we can all play a part in, both at work and at home.

“Whether you know a child or young person struggling with how they’re feeling, a parent or carer, or a health or care professional worried about a young person, it’s important to let them know that they’re not alone and help is available.

“A wide range of mental health and wellbeing support is available locally. Staff, families and young people can explore what’s on offer through our Lanarkshire Children and Young People’s Mental Health Directory, which brings together services, resources and support available right across Lanarkshire.

“This directory is a valuable starting point for anyone seeking advice, early support or specialist services for children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

“Another good resource is Kooth, which is a free, confidential online mental health and wellbeing platform available all school pupils in Lanarkshire, and for care experienced people aged up to 26 years.”

Kooth is hosting two webinars for secondary schools and professionals. The first is Staying Calm Through Exam Season, and the second is Anxiety: Know It, Name It, Calm It.

Young people can sign up at CYP webinars

Professionals can enrol to find out more about Kooth at Professional webinars.
