As we continue our spotlight on the work of the Board of NHS Lanarkshire, we welcome our new Chair, Katharina Kasper.
Katharina, who comes to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge, is currently Chair of Children’s Hearings Scotland and was a non-executive director of NHS Lothian.
She is also a board member of the Scottish Police Authority, where she chairs the complaints and conduct committee.
Katharina brings deep expertise in governance, audit, risk management and financial oversight, underpinned by a senior executive career in financial services and professional advisory roles.
She also has a strong understanding of Scotland’s health and social care system and is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability and public value.
Staff are reminded that we’d like to hear from services and departments who’d like to have Board members visit for one of their regular walkrounds.
These visits help Katharina and her fellow non-executives in their key role of holding the chief executive and the director team to account for the delivery of strategy, and ensuring value for money and that risks are managed and mitigated effectively.
If your team would like to request a walkround, please contact Board Secretary Jennifer Haynes Jennifer.Haynes@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk.
