NHS Lanarkshire is making it easier for staff to set and manage their objectives this year by offering online drop-in support sessions, providing flexible, practical guidance to help colleagues feel confident with the process.
Setting clear objectives helps staff understand priorities, focus their efforts, and feel confident about what is expected of them throughout the year. It also supports constructive conversations between staff and managers and helps link individual objectives to wider team and organisational priorities.
To support colleagues, NHS Lanarkshire has introduced online drop-in support sessions delivered via MS Teams. These sessions are supported by a technical expert and are designed to provide quick, practical help.
Siobhan McRorie, Learning and Organisational Development Manager, said:
“We know that setting objectives can sometimes feel challenging, particularly when staff are balancing busy workloads.
“These online drop-in sessions are designed to provide practical, accessible support, allowing colleagues to ask questions and get help at a time that suits them. Our aim is to make the process as clear and straightforward as possible, so staff feel confident and supported.
“Staff can book a place through the learnPro course booking system and can join the call at any point during the hour. This flexible format means staff do not need to stay for the full session and can simply drop in at a time that suits them to ask a specific question about the process or system.”
In most cases, questions can be answered during the session. For more complex queries, the team may need to carry out some further investigation and follow up after the session to ensure staff receive accurate and helpful advice.
