Urology Intravesical Cancer Treatment

University Hospital Hairmyres service

During COVID the Urology Intravesical Cancer Treatment, (UHH service) had to be put on hold with only the most urgent patients receiving treatment.

The resumption of the Nurse led Intravesical Cancer Treatment clinic has enabled us to continue to provide a Lanarkshire service as we did pre-Covid for patients to reduce the chance of bladder cancer progression and /or keep the bladder cancer in remission.

Clinics have now been running to capacity from the beginning of September.

Pre-COVID these clinics were held across the three hospital sites of Harimyres, Monklands and Wishaw but for the near future the service is centralised at Rapid Access Unit in Hairmyres.

Patients are being asked if they have any COVID symptoms not to attend and their appointment will be rescheduled.  Appointments times are also staggered.

Appointments are made within the Rapid Access Department at Hairmyres and any enquiries should be directed there. The service can be contacted on 01355 584520.
