ABOUT
The Monklands Travel Clinic is based in the NHS Lanarkshire regional Infectious Diseases unit and is run by a team of highly experienced specialist Infectious Diseases/Tropical Medicine doctors and nurses.
- We offer expert personalised travel advice, travel vaccinations and anti-malarial prophylaxis to travellers aged 16 and over.
- We are a designated Yellow Fever vaccination centre.
- The clinic is particularly suitable for those people with complex itineraries or who require more expert travel health assessment or advice.
If you have a condition which may be exacerbated by travel or become problematic during travel, please speak to the healthcare professional who usually looks after this condition – for example, consultant, GP or practice nurse.
Appointments
The clinic runs every Wednesday afternoon between 1:30pm and 3pm adjacent to ward 2, Monklands Hospital.
There is no consultation charge, but as with all hospital-based travel clinics we are required to charge for any vaccinations and other treatment that we provide for you.
The cost is essentially the simple cost price of the vaccination plus VAT and a small handling charge.
We advise that you arrange an appointment at least 4-6 weeks prior to your travel date.
