Lanarkshire stroke services continue to provide expert care
Our stroke units are open and we encourage patients with symptoms of stroke not to avoid hospital and, in particular, to follow FAST advice. If you believe you may be having a stroke or spot the signs of a stroke, please call 999 straight away.Â
Signs of stroke – FAST
- Face: Can the person smile? Has their face fallen on one side?
- Arms: Can the person raise both arms and keep them there?
- Speech: Can the person speak clearly and understand what you say? Is their speech slurred?
- Time: If you see any of these three signs, it’s time to call 999.
