Deep Vein Thrombosis Return Clinic (weekend process)

Patients attending over the weekend for DVT Doppler ultrasound will now attend Acute Medical Receiving Unit ward 2 (AMRU) as opposed to Emergency Department. There will be no change to the service provided just the waiting room location.

This process was approved by the local and acute group and changed back on Saturday 5th September, this was the previous model of care for patients.

Once the scan has been done patients will return to the waiting room within ward 2 to await scan report and then be reviewed by medical team.

There is no change to the process of returning for scan, treatment and assessment is carried out by the same medial team.
