The Lifestyle Management Course (LSM) is for people with physical Long Term Conditions (LTC), who are finding it difficult to cope with day to day life. This may involve a degree of anxiety, low mood or depression associated with their LTC. The course brings together people who are living with LTCs to help them discuss and develop coping strategies designed to improve their ability to live life as well as they can despite limitations.Â
How Can This Course Help Me?Â
The focus of the course is on the individual not the condition, consequently we ask delegates ‘what matters to you’ not ‘what’s the matter’. As such, we work with people to make small and important changes in their life building on their resources and utilising coping strategies to regain control over their condition, increase confidence and live well.

How Can I Join The Course?
To come along to the course, please ask Your GP, Practice Nurse or any other healthcare professional (e.g. Physio, Pharmacist, Occupational Therapist) you see in your GP surgery, to refer you.
When And Where Is the Course Held?
The LSM course runs from 10:30am to 1:30pm (3hrs) for 10 weeks, participants should be committed to attend all sessions although we appreciate that this may not be possible in some instances due to illness or previously planned commitments. The course is currently held within Upper Hall, St Andrew’s Parish Church, 47 Merry Street, Motherwell, ML1 1JJ. This site has specifically been chosen due to its central location for public transport links across North and South Lanarkshire.
