Update to the NHS Lanarkshire IBD Advice Line

We would like to inform patients of an upcoming update to the NHS Lanarkshire IBD Advice Line.

The Advice Line will now offer seven options to help direct patients to the most appropriate service for their enquiry. These options include access to relevant secretarial teams within Lanarkshire, the IBD Pharmacy Service, and, where appropriate, the IBD Advice Line voicemail service.

Patients are encouraged to listen to all available options before making their selection to ensure their enquiry reaches the correct team as quickly as possible.

Non-urgent enquiries will be directed to the appropriate service within the IBD team and will be responded to as capacity and demand allow. The IBD service continues to operate Monday to Friday and is closed on weekends and public holidays.

To help us provide timely support to those who need it most, we kindly ask that the advice line is used for IBD-related queries only. We have recently experienced a high volume of calls relating to issues that are not managed by the IBD service, which can impact our ability to respond to patients with IBD concerns.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
