Cervical screening
When Should I Go to a Doctor?
A guide to health problems that should cause you to contact your doctor.
You should speak to your GP if you notice any of the following:

Vaginal bleeding after sex, between periods or after the menopause.
Unexplained pain in lower back or between your hip bones.
Pain or discomfort during sex.
Unusual discharge.

You should speak to your GP about these, even if you have had your cervical screening (smear test).
These are usually caused by something other than cancer but it’s important to have them checked.
