Most falls are preventable.
There is lots of self-help advice available online (see our Useful Links section).
NHS Lanarkshire also has a Falls Hub where Falls Register staff are able to offer advice and signposting to the most appropriate service.
The Falls Register Team accept self-referrals and complete their assessments via telephone consultation.
For people who have had falls that are complex, unexplained, recurrent or where dizziness/ light-headedness or blackouts are implicated, they may be referred to the NHS Lanarkshire Specialist Falls Team. Please note this service is by professional referral only.
The Specialist Falls Team visit patients in their own home (wearing appropriate PPE). The specialist team also support the Falls Clinics within NHS Lanarkshire.
How to refer
Falls Register Team- accept self-referrals directly from patients and carers or referrals from other professionals.
Specialist Falls Team accepts referrals from a professional already involved in your care, where a general falls assessment has already been completed.
