From 10 August 2020 Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and ENT Paediatric face-to-face Consultant clinics at Monklands, Wishaw and Hairmyres hospitals are now available in addition to ongoing telephone and Near Me clinics. 

Some remote consultation and maintenance of an emergency ENT clinic on the Monklands site had previously been in place to ensure very urgent and emergency patients could continue to be treated throughout the pandemic.

Virtual appointments assess patients remotely and identify those patients requiring an ENT face-to-face appointment and those that can be dealt with without the need to come to a clinic.

Priority for all clinics will be given to urgent ENT cases in the first instance which means that waiting times for a routine appointment are taking longer at the moment.

ENT Consultants will continue to identify the appropriate first point of entry to the service for patients including identifying those patients that require a hearing test prior to a remote ENT examination. The hearing test appointment is with the Audiology Service.

Patients with ENT appointments should contact the Referral Management Service should they wish to alter or change their ENT appointment.
