Programme 2: The Foundation Programme

The Foundation Programme is the first group programme we offer, which is available 6-9 months after your diagnosis. This programme will last 1 full day and will bring together everything you know so far about Type 1 Diabetes. Programme 3: The ADAPT Programme (*Adjusting for Diabetes – a Programme for Type 1)

Following on from the Foundation Programme we off the ADAPT course, which we encourage all people living with Type 1 Diabetes to attend. This programme runs for 3 days, over the course of 3 weeks and aims to help you further develop your skills and knowledge regarding carbohydrate counting and insulin dose adjustment. We will also introduce new skills and strategies to help you in the daily management of your diabetes.

Your Diabetes Care Team

When you live with Type 1 Diabetes, you will continue to have access to your own health care team. Taking control of your diabetes means looking after your body and staying healthy, so this means that you will see different members of the team at different times.
