South Lanarkshire Carers
NHS Lanarkshire
Are you a Carer?
Carers play an essential role in people’s lives by helping to provide care to someone who needs it. If you provide care for someone, such as a relative, friend or neighbour who could not manage without your help, you might be a carer and entitled to support.
What is the Carers Act?
The Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 gives carers rights to a new adult carer support plan or young carer statement, which aims to help carers know their rights and aids them to get help and support that they are entitled to.
