Brain Injury Self-Management Programme

Welcome to our self-management programme

Our on-line self-management programme is for all people affected by Brain Injury. The purpose of the programme is to offer information on a range of subjects. We hope this is also helpful for your family members, carers and friends.

Aims

This programme aims to;

  • Help you take control in managing the everyday problems you may be experiencing following your Brain Injury
  • Include a range of self-help tips, education and practical information
  • Help you feel more knowledgeable and supported or able to support others

What is a self-management programme?

Self-management is an approach which helps you to take practical control in managing your health whether it is your physical, mental health or both. A self-management programme provides you with information and tested ideas that you can try within your own day to day life to help manage your symptoms.

Who is this programme for?

This is for you if you wish to;

  • Increase your knowledge of brain Injury
  • Take charge of managing your symptoms
  • Manage your symptoms long-term as you can dip in and out of this resource
  • Support someone else who has had a brain injury
  • Know what kind of support and services are available in Lanarkshire

What is involved?

A range of modules are available to you for you to explore at your own pace. There will be various topics that you can either follow in order or select the subjects relevant to you. The content will include both written materials and videos to watch as well as helpful links to follow.

Why would this be good for me?

Research has shown that people who are actively involved in their own care are shown to be more successful in achieving their own goals.
