The NHS impacts on everyone’s lives at one time or another and this could be your chance to get involved in improving, sustaining and protecting the health of the local population.
Neena Mahal, Chair of NHS Lanarkshire, said: “This is an exciting time to join the Board as we strive to respond to the challenges of Covid-19 by transforming how we deliver health and care for our communities.
“For one role we are looking for someone with capital project expertise who can support the Board in its oversight of the plans to build the new University Hospital Monklands. For the other role we are seeking someone who either has lived experience of health inequalities or who can bring their perspective on how we can address health inequalities to inform and shape the work of the Board.”
This is a challenging, rewarding and worthwhile opportunity that will take up around eight hours a week and last for up to four years in the first instance.
In return, you will be paid £8,842 a year. You will also get reasonable travel and subsistence costs, dependent carer expenses and support to help you carry out your duties.
Neena added: “We know that having a diverse Board improves decision making and builds a vibrant and creative culture which is better able to respond to the challenges we face and the needs of the communities we serve.
“You do not need to be a health expert or have previous experience of being on a Board. You do need to have a commitment to helping us improve the health and wellbeing of the people living in Lanarkshire. If this is you, we would like to hear from you.”
