NHS Lanarkshire logo and 75 years of the NHS

Members of the public are invited to attend NHS Lanarkshire’s annual review on Thursday 16 November 2023 to hear about a range of developments to improve health services locally.

The review will take place in the Medical Education & Training Centre, Kirklands Hospital, Fallside Rd, Bothwell, Glasgow G71 8BB, from 1pm until 3pm.

This is an opportunity for members of the public to find out more about the Health Board’s key achievements during 2022/23, and also to hear about more current topics and issues, including key projects such as the Monklands Replacement Project.

The presentation from NHS Lanarkshire will also cover the work carried out on Operation Flow in late 2022 early 2023 that brought the whole health and care system in Lanarkshire together in a concentrated and co-ordinated effort to stabilise and decompress our services, delivering benefits for both patients and staff.

During this time, we saw significant improvement across our system including improved opportunities to support people to remain well at home, reduction in hospital occupancy and length of stay and a very significant improvement in our 4 Hour A&E access and an important reduction in ambulance waits and 8 and 12 hour delays. The presentation will bring this initiative up to date to detail our current plans in preparing for winter 2023/24.

Health board staff will also update on progress to produce our new healthcare strategy Our Health Together including feedback from our engagement process earlier this year.

This year will be a non-ministerial review of NHS Lanarkshire’s performance during 2022/23.

The public are invited to attend the session, online or in person. Members of the public will be able to submit questions in advance (by using the email address below) and if time allows ask questions during the session. Instructions for those wishing to join on line (via MS Teams) will be available on the Board’s website.

Chair of NHS Lanarkshire Martin Hill said: “We would like to encourage anyone who is interested in healthcare services in Lanarkshire to come along to our annual review.

“It is an opportunity to hear about our key achievements during 2022/23. There will also be a session for members of the public to ask questions on the issues which matter most to them, although it will not be possible to answer patient specific queries.”

Refreshments will be served between 12.30pm and 1.00pm with the review itself taking place from 1pm until 3pm.

As places for the event are limited, members of the public are asked to reserve their place in advance. To book a place, and submit a question in advance, please email ChiefExecutive.NHSL@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk

If you require any assistance to attend the Annual Review, including travel, this can also be arranged for you when you confirm your attendance.
