NHSL Staff – Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

NHS Lanarkshire takes very seriously its obligation to protect staff in these very difficult times.

We are focused on providing safe methods of working, including providing personal protective equipment (PPE), and safeguarding the welfare of all of our staff.

We have been working hard to ensure that all staff, in whichever setting they work, are aware of the Health Protection Scotland (HPS) guidelines for the appropriate use of PPE.

It is important that all staff continue to follow HPS guidance on personal protective equipment, which has been agreed by the four nations. Posters summarising the best practice for PPE are available from the HPS website.

Following the HPS guidance is the most effective way to support yourself within the clinical environments and to effectively manage stocks of PPE.

If any staff are concerned about what they are expected to use, or have any issues with what is provided, they should raise these with their line manager in the first instance, and together, review the guidance from HPS and their own particular circumstances.
