NHS Lanarkshire choir – Carol of the Bells

Dec 9, 2020

Thanks to modern technology, NHS Lanarkshire’s staff choir are back, singing a song to spread Christmas cheer

For their third ‘lockdown’ performance, the choir have remotely recorded the song “Carol of the Bells”.

Performed by 19 members of NHS Lanarkshire staff, the choir hope that the song will demonstrate that you can remotely come together and have a special time this festive season.

Elizabeth Currie, Quality Programme Manager, and member of the NHS Lanarkshire staff choir, said: “As one of the newest members of the choir, it has been brilliant to meet everyone on screen and sing along to the music. It has definitely got us all in the Christmas spirit.  The choir have been meeting online to practice. Being part of a virtual choir has provided wellbeing support to all of the members throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.  It has been great to see and hear the finished work when it was completed and it is lovely to feel part of something so worthwhile. I hope everyone enjoys it.”

Rebecca Keay, musical director for the choir, said: “As a choir, we have managed to meet online for weekly rehearsals.

“We’ve worked hard at staying together by aiming to produce a couple of festive numbers for this season.

“All recordings were completed remotely, using mobile devices. The audios were then collated, mixed and then sent to Dylan McLean, to whom we’re extremely grateful for producing our videos.

“We hope you enjoy our efforts, they’ve kept us together and singing.”
