People living with long-term conditions can learn how to thrive again – with the help of a special series of workshops.

Led by top psychologists in NHS Lanarkshire, the five wellbeing sessions will run every Wednesday, from 28 August to 25 September at 6pm-7.30pm in University Hospital Monklands.

In the lecture series, people from Lanarkshire will be given the opportunity to understand more about the impact of illness and discover practical tools that can be used to reclaim wellbeing from disability, pain and fatigue.

Dr Andrew Geddes, Counselling Psychologist, said: “We understand that living with long-term health conditions can impact individuals and their families on a number of levels, often with significant changes to adjust to and cope with. If you’re wondering how you might live well with a long-term health condition, this course might be well suited to you.

“Participants will be able to learn from experienced clinicians, with focus on developing practical solutions in reclaiming your life. Skills and techniques are also taught to help in the management of common mental health-related issues.

“All participants will be very warmly welcomed.”
