There is still time for eligible Lanarkshire residents to get their winter Flu vaccine and Covid-19 booster.

A number of our vaccination centres are still offering drop in clinics for the flu and Covid vaccinations that people can attend at a time that suits them. Details on opening times are available on our website at https://www.nhslanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk/covid-19-vaccine-centres/

With the continued circulation of flu at a high level and a new Covid variant, now is the time to get vaccinated.

Toby Tipper, General Manager for the vaccination programme in Lanarkshire, said: “We are still offering Lanarkshire residents who are eligible the opportunity to get their flu and Covid vaccines.

“The flu vaccine offers the best possible protection against the flu viruses likely to be circulating this season. This protection is very important if you are likely to be in contact with high-risk people or if you are more at risk of serious flu illness like, older people and people with health conditions, babies and young children.

“The Covid booster will offer longer lasting protection against severe Covid-19 illness to those who are more vulnerable and help build up immunity to the virus, so the body can fight it off more easily and any illness should be less severe.”
