As we step into the new year, NHS Lanarkshire is encouraging residents to prioritise their foot health this winter with support from its expert Podiatry Service.

Cold weather can exacerbate foot problems, making it essential to seek timely advice and treatment.

NHS Lanarkshire’s Podiatry Service provides informed self-care advice, assessment, and treatment for a wide array of conditions affecting foot health including common aches and pains or more complex problems such as diabetic foot care.

Claire James, Head of Podiatry at NHS Lanarkshire, said: “Our podiatry team is here to help our patients manage and prevent foot issues, ensuring they stay active and comfortable throughout the colder months. We encourage anyone experiencing foot pain or discomfort to take advantage of our self-help information on our website.

“The podiatry website provides rapid self-care advice to keep you on your feet over the winter months. From tips on proper footwear to managing conditions like person foot care, to heel and toe pain, our resources are designed to help you maintain healthy feet.

“If the advice on our website hasn’t helped or improved your foot issue, you can then self-refer via our webpage, or directly via our hub. Our dedicated team is ready to provide the care you need.”

The Podiatry Hub is open from Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. Call the hub on 01698 753753 for any queries or to discuss your concerns with staff.
