People across Lanarkshire now have even greater choice and flexibility when having blood tests, as the popular Bloods and go service launches in the Bellshill area, completing its rollout across all ten Lanarkshire localities.
From Thursday 1 October 2026, the drop-in service will be available at the Treatment Room in Viewpark Health Centre, Burnhead Street, Viewpark.
Bloods and go allows people to have their blood taken without booking an appointment. The service is available to anyone who:
- is registered with a GP practice in Lanarkshire; and
- has been asked by a healthcare professional to have bloods taken.
Delivered through local NHS Lanarkshire Treatment Rooms, Bloods and go provides a simple, flexible way for patients to have blood tests. Patients can attend any Bloods and go clinic in Lanarkshire, regardless of where they live. This means they can choose the clinic and opening time that best suit their work, family or other commitments. It does not need to be their nearest or local clinic.
Paul O’Neill, Head of Community Health for South Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “We are delighted to see Bloods and go complete its rollout across Lanarkshire, with Bellshill becoming the tenth and final locality to introduce the service.
“Bloods and go gives people greater flexibility and choice. There is no need to book an appointment and patients can attend whichever participating clinic is most convenient for them, regardless of where in Lanarkshire they live.
“Making the service available across every locality is an important milestone and demonstrates our commitment to improving access to care and making it easier for people to fit healthcare around their everyday lives.”
