Baby Loss Awareness Week encourages everyone in the baby loss community, and beyond, to come together to remember and commemorate our much loved and missed babies.

This year NHS Lanarkshire’s three acute hospital sites will be lit up pink and blue from Thursday 9 to Wednesday 15 October in honour of baby loss awareness week.

Below is a list of activities and events that will take place from Thursday 9 to Wednesday 15 October:

Thursday 9 to Wednesday 15 October

There will be a ribbon display within the Sanctuary of University Hospital Wishaw. This is available each day of Baby Loss Awareness Week from 9am-7pm and we welcome you to attend and place ribbon upon our display in memory of your baby.

Applications for the book of remembrance will be available within the Sanctuary from the 9-15 October 9am-7pm. We warmly welcome parents who may have suffered pregnancy or infant loss, regardless of how many years ago, to have their baby’s name placed within one of our special books.

Friday 10 October (6pm to 8pm) – Memory making craft session

On the evening on Friday 10 October there will be a memory making craft session held within the sanctuary of University Hospital Wishaw.

Participants can attend and decorate a small candle holder to be used during the global wave of light. All craft items will be supplied along with tea, coffee and company.

Monday 13 October – Baby Books of Remembrance

On Monday 13 October, the baby books of remembrance will be on display within the Sanctuary of University Hospital Wishaw. The books will be available to view from 9am-7pm.
