Autumn Vaccination Programme in Full Swing

Sep 30, 2022

The autumn flu and Covid vaccination programme across Lanarkshire is now inviting eligible groups for their flu vaccination or their flu and Covid autumn booster.

The programme has already started to vaccinate eligible care home residents and staff, the housebound and frontline health and social care staff and appointment letters are now being issued for the other eligible cohorts in a sequential order determined on nationally agreed clinical priorities.

Susan Frew, Service Manager for Lanarkshire’s Vaccination Programme, said:

“We will be offering every eligible Lanarkshire resident the opportunity of further protection this winter through both the flu and autumn Covid booster and we would encourage anyone eligible for either the flu or the flu and booster to attend their appointment.

“Appointment letters have already started being issued and people will be offered the first available appointment. However, if someone receives an appointment and either the date or time is unsuitable or there is difficulty getting to the location, there is the option to reschedule through the NHS Inform online booking portal at https://vacs.nhs.scot/csp.  Unfortunately, people may need to try a few dates and if they can travel they can book other vaccination centres including within other health boards.

“This will be a very busy time for the service and I would also ask that people do not attend the centres no more than 10 minutes before their appointment time as this will assist in avoiding people having to queue.

“I would like to thank the residents of Lanarkshire for their continued support in making the programme a success.”
