NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit three new non-executive members to join its Board.

For these latest positions, candidates must be able to demonstrate one of the following priority criteria:

  • Digital transformation experience
  • Financial governance experience
  • Insight into the issues faced by ethnic minority communities in relation to the delivery of and access to health and social care services in Lanarkshire.

Neena Mahal, chair of NHS Lanarkshire, said: “This is an exciting and challenging time to join the Board of NHS Lanarkshire as we continue to respond to the challenges of Covid-19 through the ongoing transformation of how we deliver health and care for our communities.

“The pandemic has had a significant impact on society and NHS Lanarkshire has had to re-prioritise its services and activities. This has also provided opportunities to support innovation and develop sustainable services with high quality, person centred, safe and effective care firmly at the heart of our strategic plans.”

This is a challenging, rewarding and worthwhile opportunity that will take up around eight hours a week and last for up to four years in the first instance.

In return, you will be paid £8,842 a year. You will also get reasonable travel and subsistence costs, dependent carer expenses and support to help you carry out your duties.

Neena added: “Key priorities for the Board as we reshape our services include developing our new healthcare strategy and delivering our exciting vision to build a new state of the art digital University Hospital Monklands, while building on our culture of working in partnership with our staff and communities.

“However, the pandemic has also exacerbated the health inequalities within our society and we must ensure that addressing health inequalities is integral to anything we do.”

An online information session will take place on Tuesday 12 October from 6.00pm to 7.30pm.  To register please use the link below:
