Keep Well team finalists in Scottish Health Awards

Dec 15, 2020

NHS Lanarkshire’s Keep Well team were narrowly pipped at the post in the finals of the Scottish Health Awards.

Based in Coatbridge Health Centre, the small Health Improvement team work in partnership with a wide variety of statutory and third sector partners to actively engage with people who experience health inequalities due to life circumstances, behaviours, ethnicity and disability.

The Keep Well team were shortlisted for the Healthier Lifestyle Award, which recognises their dedication to supporting people in Scotland to make a change, which leads to having a more active and healthier life.

Elspeth Russell, Head of Health Improvement within NHS Lanarkshire, commented: “I’m extremely proud of our Keep Well Team, and I’m delighted they have been recognised within the Scottish Health Awards.

“The Health Improvement department has shown resilience, flexibility, willingness and, above all, compassion for both colleagues, patients and the communities we serve during what has been an incredibly challenging year.

“Although the team did not win the award itself, to be named finalists is fantastic recognition for their efforts and hard work throughout the Covid pandemic.”

The Health Improvement department within NHS Lanarkshire offers various resources to support individuals and communities at every stage of life to prevent ill health and improve general health and wellbeing, with the overarching aim of reducing health inequalities.
