Useful Information
The Spring/Summer booster vaccination programme begins across Lanarkshire on Tuesday 8th April 2025. If you are eligible for either this year’s Covid-19 booster we have started issuing appointments. All vaccinations are now provided by NHS Lanarkshire’s vaccination service – with the exception of travel vaccinations which are delivered by certain community pharmacies.
Since 1 April 2022, GP practices no longer have responsibility for providing vaccinations. Please do not contact your GP practice about vaccinations.
The vaccination service provides a range of vaccines from centres that were set up to deliver the covid-19 vaccine. The winter programme will be deliver at our three main sites which will provide vaccinations every day are:
- Braidfute Retail Park, Ladyacre Road, Lanark, ML11 7LQ
- Eddlewood Public Hall, Birkhall Road, Hamilton, ML3 8BG
- Muirhead Clinic, 192 Cumbernauld Rd, Chryston, Glasgow G69 9NB
There will be a number of other sites which we will utilise when they are available. These will be supported by a range of local ‘pop up’ clinics and, for our older adults (75 plus), appointments will be offer with a local pharmacy.

Who is eligible for the Booster
Flu and Covid vaccines
The groups below are eligible for both COVID-19 and flu vaccines this winter:
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- Those aged 65+
- 6 months – 64 at COVID clinical risk
- Staff in care homes for older adults
- Frontline health and social care workers
- Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy (first, second or third trimesters)
Flu vaccine only
The groups below are eligible for their flu vaccines this winter
- 18-64 years with an eligible flu-only clinical risk condition
- Carers (including unpaid and young carers)
- Non-frontline NHS workers
- Household contacts of those with immunosuppression
- Asylum seekers living in Home Office hotel or B&B accommodation
- Those experiencing homelessness
- Those experiencing substance misuse
- All prisoners within the Scottish prison estate
- Those living in long-stay residential care homes or other long stay care facilities
- Poultry workers
