NHS Lanarkshire has launched the Wellbeing Matters Lanarkshire website to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.
Replacing the Elament website, www.wellbeingmatterslanarkshire.co.uk, has been developed through extensive community engagement to ensure it provides the guidance and support people requested.
Developed by Lanarkshire Recovery Network, the site gives people an intuitive and streamlined user experience. It provides quick and easily accessible reliable mental health information and outlines local support services.
The site has distinct sections for adults, young people, and family and carers covering a range of mental health topics. It also signposts to trusted websites to ensure people are able to visit evidence-based information and support.
The website’s launch has been accompanied by a series of community-focused events to tie in with the theme of community. Activities designed to promote better mental health through the promotion of community include Feeling Great in the Glen, an invigorating nature walk and Sakoon Minds which was celebrated at Summerlee Museum.
Jenny Hutton, public mental health & wellbeing manager, NHS Lanarkshire, said: “Being part of a safe, positive community profoundly impacts our mental health and wellbeing.
“This new website is not only a resource but a vital community connector; it helps people find information, seek help, access support, and know they’re not alone.
“We’ve developed it in partnership with the Recovery Network. The extensive engagement we’ve carried out has helped us shape it in a way people have told us will help them and friends and family.
“Good mental health thrives in communities where people feel seen, supported, and valued. Through Wellbeing Matters Lanarkshire, we’re fostering connections, breaking down barriers, and reinforcing that no one should feel isolated.
“We’ve launched the website during Mental Health Awareness Week as the national theme of community emphasises the critical importance of supportive, safe communities in enhancing mental health and wellbeing.
