To provide an overview of the data on cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Lanarkshire; the health impacts, costs, and a summary of current activity to reduce the burden of CVD locally.

Provides an interactive tool to set and compare key indicators within North and South Lanarkshire. Covers a wide range of data – life expectancy by gender, Infant deaths 0-1 years, developmental concerns 27-30 months, Healthy birth weight. Data on Bowel screening, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, cancer, coronary artery disease, Hospitalisation, drug and alcohol related deaths. Woman and children’s health and immunisation uptake at 24 months. Other health data such as dental health, teenage pregnancies and suicide in young people is also available.
Local Government Benchmarking Framework Dashboards
Statistical information can be accessed through the Local Government Benchmarking Framework Dashboards. The Dashboard provides statistics on North and South Lanarkshire by service area. The ‘Adult Social Care’ Service Area includes data on percentage of people aged 65+ with long-term care needs who are receiving personal care at home, percentage of adults supported at home who agree that they are supported to live as independently as possible, proportion of adult care services graded as good or better.
Scottish Burden of disease
The Scottish Burden of Disease (SBoD) data provide an overview of health loss in Scotland, measured through indicators such as years of life lost, years lived with disability. Data is broken down by condition, disease, or injury; by socio-economic deprivation; age and sex; and by geographic level. This allows analysis of which conditions contribute most to health loss, and how this varies across different population sub-groups, areas, or demographic characteristics.

Health Improvement | NHS Lanarkshire strives to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities by creating healthier opportunities, as well as addressing underlying influences on health such as poverty, discrimination and social isolation. North Lanarkshire Council Health Care statistics
Each locality provides information and statistics on health and social care related indicators across North Lanarkshire Council and North Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership. Data is available on Lanarkshire’s population, Life Expectancy, poverty and deprivation, mother and baby indicators, early deaths, Hospital Admissions and Benefits.
The Strategic Commissioning Plan
The Strategic Commissioning Plan sets out how the Health & Social Care Partnership plans and delivers services for North Lanarkshire. The Plan provides data on population change, life expectancy trends, poverty and deprivation, along with critical public-health indicators such as the drug-related death rate and alcohol-related mortality.
The document also contains the Strategic Needs Analysis, P33, presenting data on demographics, population projections, life expectancy, care-at-home provision, unscheduled care activity, self-directed support, delayed discharge trends, and long-term conditions. It further explores the needs of children and young people, mental health, care in the last six months of life, outpatient activity, cancer incidence, births and deaths, smoking prevalence, primary care demand, and broader health inequalities.
