NHS Lanarkshire is set to welcome dedicated volunteers who will help provide excellent support to the people of Lanarkshire.

As part of an innovative recruitment drive, those with an interest in helping with NHS Lanarkshire are being encouraged to volunteer to support a number of patient facing roles including way-finders, general visiting and ward support and help at mealtimes.

Erin Macqueen, Voluntary Services Manager for NHS Lanarkshire, said: “Our volunteers are invaluable to our  organisation, bringing compassion, support, and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff alike. Their time and skills truly make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

“Volunteers at NHS Lanarkshire have the opportunity to contribute in various capacities, from guiding patients through hospital corridors to providing comfort within wards and assisting during mealtimes. Each role is essential in creating a positive and supportive environment for all.

“We are calling upon individuals who are passionate about helping others and making a meaningful impact in their community to consider volunteering with us.

“Whether you have a few hours to spare each week or can dedicate more time, there is a role for you at NHS Lanarkshire. Your contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference.”

Volunteers receive training and support, ensuring they feel equipped and confident in their roles. Volunteers become an integral part of the NHS Lanarkshire family, valued for their dedication and compassion.

In addition to the personal satisfaction of giving back to the community, volunteering with NHS Lanarkshire offers numerous benefits, including opportunities for personal and professional development, social interaction, and the chance to make lasting friendships.
