When will I get my results?

You will be told your results straight away at your appointment.

The person who does your scan will explain what your results mean.

What will my results show?

There are 4 possible results:

  • No aneurysm
  • Small aneurysm
  • Medium aneurysm
  • Large aneurysm

No aneurysm

If no aneurysm is found, this means you will not need any treatment or further check ups.

Small aneurysm

A small aneurysm is not usually serious.

It should be checked once a year to see if it has grown.

Medium aneurysm

It should be checked every 3 months to see if it has grown.

You will need to see a specialist if you have a large aneurysm.
