The North Lanarkshire Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC) website GIRFEC in NL has had a major refresh.
GIRFEC is the Scottish Government’s commitment to provide all children, young people and their families with the right support at the right time so that every child and young person in Scotland can reach their full potential.
The GIRFEC approach helps children and their families to work in partnership with services that can help them. When services work together and keep the child at the centre of all planning and actions, outcomes for children will improve.
The reinvigorated website makes it even easier for people across North Lanarkshire to access information about GIRFEC as well as supports available.
Designed with the user in mind, the website has a clean and modern layout making it easy to find the information people need. There are dedicated areas for children and young people, parents and carers, and practitioners.
The refreshed website has been strengthened to include features including:
- Information about GIRFEC policy and practice
- Updated guidance on how we deliver GIRFEC in NL
- Information about services, resources and supports for children, young people and families in NL
Carrie McCulloch, Associate Nurse Director for Children’s Services, Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire, said: “In North Lanarkshire we have been embedding the GIRFEC approach for a number of years. We constantly strive to further improve and develop the ways we work to realise our vision to get it right for all of our children and young people.
“Health visitors, early years’ staff and teachers have a key role to support and nurture the wellbeing of all children and young people. Our refreshed website is designed to host advice, guidance and supports as well as signpost them to appropriate organisations.
“The site will be continually developed to reflect our work. Ultimately, our hope is that the website will make it easier for the public and professionals to find the information they need and connect with the resources that can help them lead healthy, fulfilling lives.”
