Siobhan White has been appointed Chair of the North Lanarkshire Integration Joint Board, which plans and oversees community health and social care services across the area.
The Board brings NHS Lanarkshire and North Lanarkshire Council together to plan services that support people’s health, care and independence.
Siobhan, a board member nominated by NHS Lanarkshire, succeeds Brian Moore who stood down after completing two terms as a board member.
As Chair, she’ll work with board members, staff, partner organisations and local communities to support the continued improvement of services.
Siobhan said: “It’s a privilege to be appointed Chair of the North Lanarkshire Integration Joint Board.
“Everyone in North Lanarkshire should be able to access the health and social care support they need, when and where they need it.
“Important progress is already being made, and I want us to build on that by listening to people, removing barriers and making services easier to understand and access.
“Through Getting It Right for Everyone, we’re working to put people at the heart of their care. That means listening to what matters to them, helping them understand their choices and ensuring they’re fully involved in decisions about their support.
“Our staff and partners are already making a real difference across North Lanarkshire. By working together and learning from local people, we can build more accessible, joined-up services that help everyone live well, safely and as independently as possible.”
Siobhan is Head of Faculty Operations for the Faculty of Health, Education and Social Care at the University of the West of Scotland. She was previously the Associate Dean for Learning and Teaching in the School of Business & Creative Industries.
She’s a Chartered Public Finance Accountant with extensive experience in managing public money, audit and how organisations are run.
Siobhan’s previous roles include serving on the boards of the Scottish Housing Regulator and West of Scotland Housing Association. She also previously chaired the Audit and Governance Panel at South Ayrshire Council.
She’s currently an independent member of the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body Advisory Audit Board.
