Treatment Room services

Treatment Room services are nursing services provided in a local clinical setting.

Staff provide a range of clinical interventions so you can attend a treatment room instead of your GP.

Following a Lanarkshire-wide review, the number of interventions offered has been increased and you can now access the same services across all treatment rooms.

Interventions offered at Treatment Rooms:

  • B12 injections – prescribed by a GP
  • Bloods – requested by GP
  • Bloods – requested by hospital
  • Care of Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD)
  • Chronic disease monitoring – requested by GP
  • Claudication – first assessment
  • Claudication – review
  • Ear assessment/ear irrigation

  • Nephrostomy care
  • Public Health requested swab

Bloods and go

Bloods and go is a drop-in service, provided in Treatment Rooms, for patients whose GP practice needs them to have blood taken.

It is currently available in six of the ten localities (areas) in Lanarkshire – Coatbridge, East Kilbride, Hamilton, Lanark, Motherwell and Wishaw. However, we are reviewing how we can provide this in the remaining four areas.

By using the Bloods and go service you can attend the Treatment Room whenever suits you, during their opening times. No appointment needed.
